Often as artists we fear the inevitable, that the thing we are working on will not turn out the way we want. And at other times we will be very pleased with ourselves and the work that we have done.
In this example here, I repeatedly tried different thumbnail sketches and arrived at one that I liked. In proceeding to the final I was pleased with the way it turned out, but now that I have a decent sketch there is some attachment to it and fear of ruining it with a watercolor pass.
But fear and attachment should not stop us for we can always try again and again and again. This is the struggle in the pursuit of any craft or endeavor. Learn to embrace the struggle and look for no reward, only for your next project to complete.
