If you are lucky enough to have a loving family to come home to and a job that helps pay for a roof over the heads of those you hold dearest, then regardless of how difficult a situation you come across, consider yourself infinitely fortunate to have those things. Gratitude for the things we have as a regular practice helps to put things in perspective, realize the things that matter most in life. It is easy to look at the things we don’t have and compare our lives to those around us or worse yet those in social media. There are countless people born regularly into deplorable and sometimes unescapable situations.
Be thankful not just for the things that you have, but that the things you don’t have serve as motivation and a fountain of energy to drive you forward, not as a source of depressive and negative thoughts.
