Simple Joys

Biological life passes by at a breakneck speed in relation to the cosmos. Even more so if we live our day to day lives on autopilot rife with obligations, goals, careers and whatever else fills our day.

Every now and then, take small time outs to enjoy the simple pleasures of life, like watching the sunrise or sunset, listening to the birds sing or the rustling of leaves in the wind. If you happen to have a stream or river nearby, personally I find the sound of running water primally satisfying. Or how about kissing your children while they sleep or enjoying the skin to skin contact and body warmth of your spouse. Or if it is within your means, take a day off work to spend time with your loved ones.

These moments can sustain and motivate us throughout our day. So don’t take these things for granted because we never know what life has in store. For at any time, the cosmos can take all or some of our simple treasures away.
